Comparable ? . Actually the value need to convert into Long in order for accurate return value. So with this conversion it will always return lt 0, gt 0 or eq 0. Hope you understand.

You must be talking about casting float/real values to int/long for accurate logical operator tests..
Definitely safer lah in case the values are too close, and the x87 unit has slight error margins.
