Noodles of the day - mee siam

Mee Siam

Mee siam is rice vermicelli served with soup and topped with lots of bean sprouts, some tofu, spring onions and fried shallots..

mee siam is abit spicy and it's tasty when served hot..

anyway i prefer mee siam with more bean sprouts than rice vermicelli..

Two days of darkness in the apartment

i went home the other day and found myself a piece of pinkish red color paper at the doorstep...

It shows that there was a total amount of RM 300++ of electricity bill not paid... therefore with immediate effect.. the whole apartment will be in darkness until that the bill is settled..

i was told by my housemate that he had forgotten to pay the bills.. and he promised that he'll get things right by the next day.. and so..

for the first day.. i called my sis n friends for help..

sis : "i haven't moved out yet.. so no place to stay lei"
friend : "rechargeable portable light? dun have lei"
friend2 : "ok u can stay at my place.. "

it was a sudden relieve that i can finally get myself a place to stay for that night but i don't really like the idea of staying at other ppl's house.. and so i patiently waited for the nxt day to come..

on the 2nd day...

i finally got home from work.. and voila!.. still no electricity.. i smsed friend2 and there was no reply..

at that moment i felt spiritually weak and just depressing to know the fact that i've nowhere to turn to.. my housemate said that there will be electricity by 9pm.. but i see no lights..
i slept throughout the whole nite.. and suddenly woke up at bout 11.30pm..

i felt terrible and horrible even more cuz my room is still in the dark.. and i proceeded my activity with a quick shower with a torch light with me...

after shower.. i lied down on my bed and feel helpless.. until 12.30 am that the electricity is back again..

Being kind hearted to the unfortunate ones..

an old lady, blind and about 70 years old... boarded the bus from Brickfields and was immidiately given a seat by a guy.. she said it loudly that she wanted to go to Mid Valley...

i was sitting at the window seat opposite hers and studying her condition.. my heart goes out for her completely.. "how can an old lady travel alone.. has she got no one to take care of her?"...

when the bus had finally reached the destination... she got off alone.. i felt pitiful seeing her till an "angel" came to her rescue.. he's in his 20s and was about to board the bus.. and when he saw her.. he quickly offered help and guide her instead of proceeding with his plan/journey..

my reaction to the situation was like... "wow! this guy really has got a big heart and being ever ready to give"... i wonder how many of us are willing to do the same..

Today i'm listening to....

KT Tunstall - Eye To The Telescope

Songs in this album are

1. Other Side Of The World
2. Another Place To Fall
3. Under The Weather
4. Suddenly I See
5. Miniature Disasters
6. Silent Sea
7. Universe & U
8. False Alarm

What is an online game (MMORPG) to me

in my previous post i mentioned that i play MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game(s))..

i made lots of friends in the virtual world in every games i played.. we communicate.. wack monsters, run together and talk about the fantasy world which we were in.. and when i got into a clan.. i was treated warmly by my clanmates as a whole happy family that we work in a group for game war or player killing..

some think that gaming is something which will turn a gamer into a no life geek.. i agree in a way when i spent hours facing the pc.. but in return.. i get new friends through it (similar to getting pen pals but in modernized way).. and we still keep in touch even though i seldom play these games now...

1+2 mom and snowie are friends whom i made from KO :) which happens to have a blog too..

memories : picture of my clannies in the game

The malaysian ethics & High heels tragedy..

i boarded a bus to work this morning and as usual was cramped in the sardine packed metal box.. nothing interesting till a piece of paper which is on the wall of the bus caught my attention with the message "anda sopan kami sopan" (which means if u're polite, we'll be polite too)...

at that moment.. what i've been thinking of were... situations like this :

1. a pedastrian was about to cross the road.. what will most malaysian drivers do?
2. alot of people were waiting for a particular bus.. and when the bus reached to pick up passengers, what will most malaysians do?
3. glass doors (manual) - entrance to some buildings like big shopping centres.. will malaysians hold on to the door till the next person holds onto it?

hehe.. i guess we all do know the answers (for malaysians)

on another scenario...

today i broke my record again! first time wearing some high heels to work.. (my normal shoes spoilt liao) painful sia.. i've to walk with some "noise" and the worst part is much slower than my normal speed..

verdict : -_- i dislike wearing high heels..

My comments on blog review from asianblogreview

based on my blog review from Asian Blog Review

Alicia's weblog is based on the simple 2 column layout - 1 layout for the posting and the other as the sidebar. The colour symbiosis is easy on the eyes and it is wondrously pleasant for viewers to read it.

glad that my layout is nice as i've spent hours for it :)

The only part I did not like about the layout was the header image, where she placed a small disclaimer link [If you're new here pls read this first..] just below her tagline. It's small, i think it's about a size 10 font. When it's still an active link it's reddish brown so one can notice it, but when it's a visited link it becomes grey and it blends with the image background, rendering nearimpossible to view.

i think the disclaimer link is ok.. as it's much better than having it at the bottom of my blog where seldom people will know of it's existance.. anyway i'll work on the link color when i've got the time and mood :P

Content wise, Alicia writes her posts in English - though it's broken here and there, the message is easy to understand and to digest. However, her post title irritates me when she places it in mixed capital letters such as "The MalaysiaN FooD".

i admit that my english is not very good in writing.. but happy that it's easy to be understood.. about mixed capital letters... will definitely do something about it :)

In many of her posts, she places pictures which I think is quite fabulous but with too many pictures, loading time increases.

i think pictures in my blog are ok as i've been asking feedbacks frm my readers about the loading time.. i think it is perfectly fine as it's small and in jpeg form (to reduce size and loading time)... furthermore i've created a link for each of the pictures i posted for users to view the real BIG actual size..

Alicia has 12 blogrolls at the moment, maybe it's because she only joined Blogspot in October 2005. Hopefully it doesn't end up like other blogs I've seen that have 50++ blogrolls. Navigation to previous posts/archives is easy.

i've a system which i'm planning to implement should my blogrolls increase.. so it shouldn't be an issue :)

anyway thanx for the review..

WoRds - are TheY SweeT? what not..

i've just read a poem from gulengz.. i guess being a typical girl.. i wouldn't run away from the fact that i do like reading such poems.. haha... i just think that it's a very sweet one...

i guess that's a very good weapon for guys out there.. i personally think that guys.. dey're somehow very good at words.. sometimes so sweet that they'll sweep the girl's feet away... some girls in the other hand would think dat it's merely words.. yah.. we do! (me & my frens) we said "nah.. they all.. crapsters la.. say only 'tin ha mou tik'" but somehow.. we like listening to their craps LoL".. funny isn't it?

anyhow.. i believe.. words itself won't represent anything... action is louder than words and i trust what i see...

Most Disgusting SUpper Ever.

As i spent my last night in my hometown...it was a ritual to have "the last supper" at the neighbourhood eaterie. Upon reaching... i was warmly recieved by a disgusting almost naked papadum pundek with his tattered loins and foul stench. He was practically sipping from every leftover plates or bowls and ranting at his invisible friends.Ok i tolerated all that and gave it a miss when my nice delicious chunky red bean dessert was presented *ahhh* *slurp slurp* then came the 2nd item "delicious fried beehoon with cockles" woohoo~ i did a quick sweep ard my field of vision to make sure that fiend does not pose a threat to my heavenly meal. After spiltting my portion, as i was abt to chow down... a really huge fat guy which was sitting by the next table with his back facing me BROKE WIND!!! >.< it was like *Praatt! pratt! pratt! pree...* Im pretty sure it was a WET FART. argh... that spoilt my appetite period. Had the Hums and shoved the rest... *argh* a truly Disgusting supper indeed.

Java - My PaSsioN

This is something dat i see everyday..

public String getMsgContent(String region_zone, String productID,
String keyword, String state_district)
{
DecimalFormat myFormatter = new DecimalFormat("###,##0.00");

String returnstr = "";
String queryStr =
"select product, price, unit from abcd.abcd_products_price where product_ID = '"
+ productID + "' and " + keyword + " like '%" + region_zone + "%'";

Connection con = dbman.getConnection();
try
{
Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(queryStr);

sometimes HTML codes too.. I have no idea on why i ended up being a programmer.. i dun really like to code.. but still i'm doin it..

one thing is whenever i'm on a task in java.. i will really get into it.. so muc attention and effort will b put.. it's certainly an euphoria if an application coded has got 0 error 0 bugs or etc..

U-Village Pumpkin and Chicken Rice

Few weeks ago i went to Sg Wang and had pumpkin and stir fry chicken rice..

Both the rice are kinda ok.. it's edible.. nice.. but not to say very yummy.. so it's not really worth the price.. i think it's abit expensive for something like that..

Carl's Jr. SinGaPoRe

Today i went to Marina Square in Singapore and had burgers in this fast food outlet, Carl's Jr... The burgers r quite nice and they have this special sauce prepared with fresh vegetables and onion for the burgers and side dishes..

This is Charbroiled Santa Fe Chicken..

Double Western Bacon Cheese Burger..

Fried Zucchini - It's a cucumber in between the batter..

The verdict : It's all nice.. xcept that the foods r abit expensive at about SGD 10+ per meal..
